JSTOR Seeklight generates descriptive metadata using a modified Dublin Core-based metadata schema. Projects created with the Seeklight metadata template have all available Seeklight fields enabled automatically.
For existing projects using different templates, you can manually enable Seeklight for the field(s) you want to generate metadata for using Seeklight.
Enabling/disabling fields for Seeklight metadata generation
To enable or disable Seeklight metadata generation for one or more of your project fields:
- In your project, select Project Settings, then select the Seeklight Management tab.
- For each field listed under Project Fields, use the corresponding Seeklight Fields drop-down menu to enable or disable Seeklight metadata generation for that field.
- Each Seeklight field can only be connected to a single project field and vice versa. Any Seeklight fields which have already been enabled will be noted and cannot be selected for a different field.
- You can disable Seeklight metadata generation for a field by selecting None. This will also make it available to enable for a different project field.
- With the exception of the Seeklight Resource Type List field, Seeklight can only be enabled for Text or Text Area fields. Any fields with incompatible field types will be noted.
- For instructions for adding additional fields to your project or editing existing fields, see Managing project fields.
As you enable each field, your changes will be saved automatically. In addition, these settings will be carried over to any new project(s) created by copying your current project.
